 One
of the greatest aspects of the Winter Music Conference is that you get a
chance to meet and recognize new talent in every aspect of every genre.
Well, all you party goers from all over the world would recognize the
feeling and aura of this great well organized party that is The Swamp
Thing. The feeling I got from the beginning of this party led me to
compare it to a party I used to go to in New York at CBGB'S. I guess you
could say that this party was like the new aged CBGB type gathering of
talent. From the beginning of the show we spoke with the
promoter/organizer. Sabrina Winogrond and told her that we were very much
impressed with the organization of the party. Her vision of the party was
a success and we were pleased to have the opportunity to take press during
the show.
 I
had the chance to meet with the talent and if you ever would want to meet
them it would have to be in the raw after their performance. The show was
held at the I/O 30 NE 14 ST. Downtown Miami and had the line up of Soft
Pink Truth, Airborne Audio, Richard Devine, Matthew Dear, Phonecia, Otto
Von Schirach, Dabrye, Doormouse, Styrofoam, Aura, Jimmy Edgar, Hearts of
Darknesses, Subjex, Secret Frequency Crew, Haviken Hayes, Finesse+Runway,
Din-ST, o9, Girl Talk, Skiiimall, Baseck, Unjust, Salim Rafiq, Ectomorph,
Karakter and Nova, and special guest star Miss Kitten. Most of the music
was raw pungent electric funk that rose an energy level of a thousand
miles per hour. From Stryrofoam's psycadelic u2 type sound to Soft Pink
Truth's popping disco tech to Hearts of Darknesses performance of a naked
mosh pit.
 I
must say that the later was not to say the least but rather than a
interesting expression of art. The rooms were hauntingly decorated with
the guests all draped in their garb. While the outdoor patio had DJ'S
spinning the cuts while the middle and front room was rocking to the new
cutting edge of great talent that was presented. All in all, I must say
that LiveWebcasters gives The Swamp Thing a big thumbs up!!! And if
Sabrina Winogrond is throwing one of these parties soon, I recommend that
you go!!!
